A Few of Our Favorite Spots

Eat & Drink

Richmond's food scene punches well above its weight. Here's where to eat, where to drink, and where to do both at the same time.

Dinner

Reservations a must

L'Opossum

Eccentric décor, genuinely inspired food, an experience you'll be talking about for a while. Make a reservation. Trust us.

Book ahead

Stella's

A beloved Greek restaurant and a Richmond classic. Reservations strongly recommended — this one fills up fast.

The Roosevelt

Southern-inspired cooking in a warm, historic space. The kind of meal that feels like a hug.

Brenner Pass

Alpine-inspired food that sounds unexpected and tastes incredible. Great cocktails and a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to linger.

Cash only

Edo's Squid

A Richmond institution for Italian food — always packed, absolutely worth it. Old-school in the best way.

Sell out early

ZZQ Texas Craft Barbecue

Legit Texas-style BBQ in the middle of Virginia. The brisket has no business being this good. Get there early.

Can Can Brasserie

A proper French bistro in Carytown. Great for a leisurely brunch or a long dinner with family in from out of town.

Coffee & Breakfast

Lamplighter Coffee Roasters

A Richmond institution. Great beans, great atmosphere, great excuse to linger.

Blanchard's Coffee

Bright, welcoming, and genuinely excellent — the kind of place that makes you wish your neighborhood had one.

Expect a line

The Fancy Biscuit

Breakfast and brunch done right. Completely worth the wait.

Go early

Sub Rosa Bakery

Wood-fired breads and pastries that will ruin you for all other bakeries. Buy more than you think you need.

Drinks & Bars

Our pick

Quirk Hotel Rooftop

Cocktails with a view. Perfect for a golden-hour drink before or after dinner.

Saison

Sophisticated cocktail bar with a thoughtful, creative menu. Great for a slower evening with people you actually want to talk to.

Cobra Cabana

Tropical vibes, strong drinks, and a genuinely fun atmosphere. Unpretentious and a little chaotic — in a good way.

The Veil Brewing Co.

One of Richmond's most celebrated craft breweries — and one of the most respected in the country.

Scott's Addition. Go.

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery

Beloved local brewery with a huge, welcoming taproom and excellent year-round beers.

Triple Crossing Beer

Another Scott's Addition staple. Great beer, good food, always a crowd worth being part of.

💛 Richmond's food scene surprises people every time. Eat well, drink happily, and we'll see you at the wedding.

Explore Richmond

Richmond has a way of surprising people — in the best way. Whether you have a few hours or a full extra day, here's where to spend your time.

Wander & Explore

Maymont Park

You'll already be here for the ceremony — but Maymont deserves more than one visit. Historic gardens, roaming wildlife, and the kind of quiet beauty that makes you forget your phone exists.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden

Stunning and thoughtfully designed. Go in the morning, go slow, and bring someone you like talking to.

Carytown

Richmond's most beloved neighborhood strip — indie boutiques, vintage shops, great coffee, and the kind of energy that makes a Saturday feel well spent.

The Fan District

Tree-lined streets, stunning Victorian row houses, and great spots to eat and drink tucked throughout. Perfect for an afternoon walk with nowhere to be.

Belle Isle

A small island in the middle of the James River, accessible by footbridge. Great for hiking, a swim in summer, or just watching locals do their thing.

Richmond Canal Walk

A scenic 1.25-mile walk along the historic Haxall Canal. Easy, flat, and genuinely lovely — especially around sunset.

Art & Culture

Free admission

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

One of the best free art museums in the country — and genuinely world-class. Plan for at least two hours and don't skip the café.

The Edgar Allan Poe Museum

Richmond's eeriest little gem. Poe spent his formative years here, and the museum leans all the way in — in the best possible way.

Hollywood Cemetery

Sounds morbid, looks breathtaking. Perched above the James River, it's the resting place of two U.S. presidents and has some of the most dramatic views in the city.

Scott's Addition

Richmond's former warehouse district turned coolest neighborhood. Breweries, cideries, a meadery, and an axe-throwing bar — all within walking distance of each other. No further questions.

💛 We hope you leave a little bit in love with Richmond. It doesn't always get the credit it deserves — but we're quietly proud of it. Explore, take your time.
